I'm not a member of any particular religion, although I was raised in the church. My stepfather was an African American pastor, but not the fire and brimstone type so many people associate with African American churches.

It’s funny, the little things that you carry with you during your life. We carry the important ones, the ones that remind of us of someone near and dear to us, forever in our heart.
Every year we learn new lessons, hopefully we learn many new lessons from a positive standpoint. I've learned that there is a difference between realizing and accepting some lessons, most of them as they deal with aging.
I sometimes get asked, "What's it like?"
We can't overstate the impact our dogs have on our lives.
I sit here writing this on Monday, with another surgery coming up on Tuesday. It will be yet another surgery on a knee that I originally injured in Kuwait when we deployed to deal with Iraq.
