Miles' Riddle and Kalina named All District
The All-District 7-2A All-District volleyball selections were announced on November 23. Two Miles Bulldogs players were name to the First Team; Senior Kinsley Riddle and junior Allie Kalina.
The Lady Dogs had a tough rebuilding year with all of their starting seniors graduating in May. They leave a lot of new talent to be developed on the team. Last season Miles went 29-10 overall and 10-2 in district. This season wasn't as kind to them as they went 7-13 overall and 6-7 in district. The season started out tough for the ladies as they started off with 8 straight losses. The team built from the positives and gelled as the COVID- nterrupted season wore on. The ladies went 5-5 in their last 10 games, a vast improvement from the start of the season. Two of those losses were to powerhouse Veribest team that only dropped 2 games all season. Veribest made it 4-rounds into the playoffs before falling to Sterling City, who would then fall to Blum 3-0.
While Kalina and Riddle were the First Team selections, there were 4 other player selected to Second Team and Honorable Mention, respectively: Jessica Hinds, Regan Smithwick, and Whitney Halfmann were Second Team while Katelynn Graves won Honorable Mention.
