FTP: Homecoming, y'all... or ya'all?

The other day on social media I saw a group of Miles athletes praying before their event. I was touched by this public display of faith offered by these young folks. Well done!

Saturday night I DJ’d a wedding and reception. It was the best of times it was the worst of times. It was unusual and I will leave it at that.

The other night I watched the Miles Bulldogs play a great football game. They looked sharp and were on a different plane than the last time they played.  What a difference a week makes. The homecoming court was classy at many levels. The escorts and their participants looked mighty fine on the field. Congratulations too all the winners. Thank you to all the folks putting the entire week of homecoming activities together. Lots of work went into every event of every day. Memories were made to talk about at reunions in the future. Keep in touch with your friends after you leave high school. Sad to say, often the next time you know, you will read about them in the obituaries and you will say, “Wow, where did the time go. I wish I had called them the last time I was in town”. Time does fly and it leaves us behind. Keep in touch with your classmates.

Saturday a fellow Lion commented on a recent article. I value his opinion and am glad folks are reading and thinking about the ‘stuff’ I offer. Thank you.

This summer cannot end soon enough. Let’s get a chill in the air and break out our fall clothes. I have a feeling if I try to get into my fall garments I will break out some seams. Anybody have some good diets to offer? I will start it the first week in October, after the Sausage Fest. The Methodist Church will be having their annual Sausage Fest on Sunday, Oct 3rd, at Weatherby Hall for drive thru pick up orders only. Sausage, raw or cooked, will also be sold by the pound by pre-order only. Call Mark Sklenarik to place your order. Please plan on picking up one extra plate and take it to a friend as a surprise offering. I look forward to seeing you all there. Maybe one day we will be able to have it inside again.

Yhave a couple of silly questions for you to ponder. How do you call Marcel Marceau? (He is a mime). When is the time to start ‘fixin’ to’? What is the plural of ya’all…all ya’ll?  Be Well, Gary K.
