Meals on Wheel Plus, Inc. needs a volunteer to help distribute meals in Runnels County
Volunteers can drive to First Baptist Church in Winters and pick up the small Meals on Wheels Van. Drive it to Abilene and arrive here between 10:30 and 10:50. We try to have them loaded so they can head back by 11:00 a.m. They make a brief stop at the Ovalo Post Office to drop off the few meals that are delivered there. Then drive to Winters where they will meet the Winters volunteers at First Baptist Church. They then transfer the meals for Ballinger and Rowena into their personal vehicle and drive to Ballinger. They will go to Ninth Street Church of Christ where the volunteers gather to pick up meals for Ballinger & Rowena.
It’s just once a week on Wednesday. They can work with a friend if they wish. Anytime they are not able to pick up the meals as scheduled they just let Gene Roggenkamp, our staff member in Ballinger, know and she will find someone to fill in for them.
