Ballinger ISD teacher on leave over alleged "improper" behavior with a student
Ballinger Police Chief Ray Cornutt says that a 5th-grade elementary school teacher has been put on leave by BISD due to allegations of an inappropriate behavior with a 12-year old student. The name of the teacher has not been released.
There have been no charges filed at the time. The Ballinger PD will be conducting the investigation to determine if there are any charges to be filed. No statements have been released at this time. The police department and BISD typically do not comment during an on-going investigation.
Ballinger superintendent Jeff Butts released a statement on Saturday, March 6:

On Thursday, the Ballinger Police Department was notified of the accusation and the teacher was placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. Due to this matter being under investigation, no further details or comments will be made at this time. As always, Ballinger ISD puts the safety and well-being of our students as a top priority."
