Saint Boniface Church Fall Festival at Olfen, Texas
Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020. There will be a drive through only. Only entrance is County Road 234 off of FM 1678.
Drive through plates to go have homemade sausage, turkey and dressing meal. All plates cost $10 each and will available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be no dine in or no walk-ups. Miles Trade Days
MILES - The Miles Trade Days will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 3 in downtown Miles. Businesses will be open and 10' x 15' vendors booths are available on the sidewalks. The Miles Public Library also will have a free book give-away on the sidewalk.
Top Tier Grain and The Depot will sponsor a pumpkin patch with all sizes available for purchase. Children also can scoop through corn and search for treasures.

Recycling Center Hours
The City of Ballinger's Recycling center, located at South 7th Street and Sealy Avenue is open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday. Open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
We are open now with our regular hours.
Regular hours are 10-5 Monday, Wed., Thursday, and Friday. Open 10-6 on Tuesday. We also have a librarian who is a Notary Public. It costs $5 per document notarized.
We have had a very profitable book sale so far, and want to thank you for your support.

Senior Citizen Lunch
The First United Methodist Church in Ballinger will provide a free lunch to Ballinger senior citizens on the second Tuesday of each month at the Senior Citizens Center. The meal will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The doors will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to make time for seniors attending to have time for visiting and fellowship. Anyone who needs a ride to the lunch, please call 365-2323. Wheelchairs cannot be transported.
Visit 'Friendly Neighbors'
The Texas Extension Education Agency “Friendly Neighbors” invites everybody in the Runnels County area who is interested in learning about cooking, gardening, arts and crafts and other useful subjects to meetings at 2 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except during the summer). Meetings will alternate between the Runnels County Extension Office on the corner of south 7th Street and Sealy Ave. in Ballinger and the Winters Public Library at 120 N. Main St. in Winters. Winters Public Library is now offering curbside service Monday - Thursday, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Our catalog may be viewed online at http://www.winterspubliclibrary.org. Please call (325) 754-4251 for more information or to place an order for pickup.
The library is also providing SUMMER READING PROGRAM kits for children ages birth-5th grade. These may be picked up at the Library and completed at home. New kits are available each Tuesday in June, and may be picked up anytime during the week. Participants are encouraged to read at least 12 books during the summer. Special prizes will be given for those who complete twelve books by mid-August
Winters Tai Chi
The Winters Tai Chi group meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the First Baptist Church Jones Hall. Slow stretches and breathing exercises are suitable for senior citizens. Benefits include improved balance and agility. Cost is free. Participants should bring along water.
3rd Annual Round for Marvin
The third annual benefit golf tournament, A Round for Marvin, will be Saturday, September 26th at the Ballinger Country Club. The four man scramble is scheduled for a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Registration for each four person team is $200 which includes green fees, lunch catered by Smokey Joe’s and a goody bag. Golf carts are not included. On course contests include longest drive and closest to the pin. Mulligans and contest entries are available for an additional fee.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The tournament is in honor of long time Ballinger resident Marvin Clark who was an avid golfer and lost his battle to Alzheimer’s disease in 2014. We are excited to honor his memory with this fun community event sponsored by Buddy’s Plant Plus, Keystone Bank and Sweetwater Steel.
