Ballinger Woman's Club welcomes Dana Glossbrenner

Author Dana Glossbrenner was the guest speaker at the Ballinger Woman's Club meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Carnegie Library.

BALLINGER - The Ballinger Woman’s Club met Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Carnegie Library and welcomed author Dana Glossbrenner as the guest speaker.

Hostesses Deborah Jennings, Ellen McKinnon had arranged lovely fall decorations and served scrumptious refreshments. Deborah introduced her friends, Dana and Jim Glossbrenner. Dana gave a preview of her new book of literary fiction, “The Lark.” She gave an engaging talk telling just enough about the story to spark interest. Dana’s books, “Women Behind Stained Glass” and “The Lark” were available for members to purchase.

President Clydelle Selby led the meeting for old and new business and officer’s reports. Eddie Dunn was recognized as a new member. Judy Lusby’s treasurer’s report included donations that the club made to local needs support groups and scholarship recipients.

Club members voted to purchase books for the library in memory of Jo Davis. Sue Morris reported that the library board had enough volunteers for tables for the "Christmas Tea" library fundraiser.
