Book club to form, review Nelson memoir

Celinda Hawkins Managing Editor Runnels County Register

Do you love to read and share your passion with others? The Book Club is forming in Winters and will meet at 5 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Winters Public Library.

During the first meeting slated for Monday, April 10, organizer, Joyce Carbery will be reviewing Grammy award winning legend Willie Nelson's memoir titled "It's a Long Story, My Life," published in 2015.

Those who read the book will be treated to a smooth-spoken recollection of the country legend's childhood and his eight-decade-long musical career.

The conversational tone echoes Nelson's singing style. It's natural, as if you were sitting across from the 10-time Grammy winner in his tour bus, the USA Today story published last year stated.

Each month going forward, members will select a book to read for the following month. Those who wish to join, may do so free of charge. And all who participate are encouraged to bring suggestions on which books to review.

For additional information, call Joyce at 325-754-4251.
