SUNDOWN — Bryson Daily showed his dual-threat ability, running for 182 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 104 yards, to lead Abernathy past Sundown 42-9 on Friday night.

With the win, the Antelopes improved to 2-0 while the Roughnecks dropped to 1-1.

Christian Huey struggled against the Abernathy defense, tossing for 137 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions for Sundown.

With the win, Seminole improved to 2-0 while the Wildcats fell to 1-1.

Dillon Lopez did his best to keep Idalou in the contest, throwing for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Xaveon Cavazos chipped in 82 yards on the ground.

NEW HOME — It was the Christian Montes show Friday night.

Montes ran 18 times for 173 yards and five touchdowns, while also throwing for 110 yards and one score, to power Sudan to a 44-6 victory over New Home in nondistrict action.

With the win, Sudan improved to 2-0 while the Leopards (1-1) drop back to .500.

New Home's Keaton Pearson intercepted a pass and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to prevent the shutout.

MULESHOE — Leric Eaton rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns as New Deal ran past Muleshoe.

Eaton scored on a 33-yard run with 4:20 left to play in the first quarter, then added TD runs of 5 and 4 yards in the second quarter, helping the Lions build a 30-0 halftime lead.

Haden Caudill scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and completed a 5-yard pass to Dylan Jerden in the third quarter for another touchdown. Noah Vasquez added a 20-yard touchdown jaunt for the Lions, 2-0, with 10:41 left to play in the game.

The Mules, 0-2, tallied a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter when Irving Torres connected with Jimmy Villa on a 49-yard pass and later scored on a 3-yard run.

Aschenbeck rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns, scoring on a 70-yard run in the second quarter and an 85-yard run in the third quarter. Gonzales rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, scoring on a 1-yard run, a 7-yard run and a 49-yard run.

Oscar Gutierrez added a 49-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Caleb Nolen scored on a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter for Sonora, 2-0.

Ryan Aguilar led Lamesa, 0-2, with 38 passing yards and 24 rushing yards.
