Justin Gray will delay medical school for just a bit.
Gray, a former Texas Tech guard, signed Wednesday to play for the Bristol Flyers in the British Basketball League located in the United Kingdom.
The 6-foot-5 defender extraordinaire will take his talents to WISE Arena in Bristol, England.
In his final season with the Red Raiders, Gray averaged 5.2 points and 3.8 rebounds while accepting the role of a high-level defender and rebounder.
But, when his team needed him to score, Gray turned up his aggressiveness and it showed in a historic win against then No. 10-ranked Kansas at Allen Field House.
The senior scored the first eight points, sparking an 8-2 run, which allowed Texas Tech to earn a wire-to-wire, 85-73 victory — marking the first time the Red Raiders won a game inside "The Phog" in 17 tries. Gray scored 12 points in the win, securing one of his six double-digit games.
The Flyers ended with a 19-14 mark to finish sixth in the British Basketball League last season.
Last week, Niem Stevenson signed a professional contract with the Leicester Riders who also compete in the British Basketball League.
