Zoe Webb, Vega

Year: Sophomore

Event: Class 2A 100 Hurdles, bronze in Triple Jump

Performance: Webb was stellar on the track, taking home three medals. She won the gold medal in the 100 hurdles with a new personal-best of 14.98. She was a part of a silver medal winning relay team, and earned a bronze in the Triple Jump.

Quoting Webb: "There was great competition. I was able to get a PR in both the Triple Jump and the 100 hurdles. It was just an great night for all of us."



Vega Class 2A 400 and 1600 relay

Team: Kate Link, Madison Yosten, Skye Bain, Zoe Webb, Calleigh Kirkland

Performance: The Vega relay teams won a pair of gold medals in the 400 and 1600 meter relays. The 400 meter relay ran a time of 49.36 while the mile relay ran a PR of 4:07.34.

Quoting Kirkland: We knew it was our last time to race together. We wanted to go out on the medal stand. These last four years have been so much fun with these girls. We wanted to go out celebrating and maybe cry a few happy tears."



Luke Ray, Panhandle

Year: Junior

Event: Class 2A 400 meter run

Paragraph: Ray won his first career bronze medal in the 400 meter run by racing to a 49.87. It's the first medal of his career.

Quoting Ray: I think it shows that all the hard work you do pays off. It goes to show everything you do is worth it. It was a good thing for us."

Ryan Robinson, Boys Ranch

Year: Junior

Event: Class 2A 1600 meter run

Performance: Robinson ran a gutsy race pretty much leading the opening the two laps before settling on third and running a personal best  4:39.28. Robinson had run the 3200 meter race early in the day finishing fourth.

Quoting Robinson: “After finishing fourth in the 3200 I was determined to not come up short in the 1600. It might seem like a long race but it went so fast it was almost a blur.”
