SONORA - Ballinger fared well at the Junior High District 4-3A Track and Field Championships held Friday, April 13 in Sonora.

SONORA - Ballinger fared well at the Junior High District 4-3A Track and Field Championships held Friday, April 13 in Sonora.

Some of the standouts are likely to be some of Ballinger’s brightest up and coming athletes.

The 7th grade girls ranked second overall, with 8th grade girls ranked third overall.

The 7th grade boys ranked fifth overall and second for the 8th grade.

In 7th grade girls category, Addison Martin won first place in the 800m run and the triple jump, second in the 400m run, the pole vault and in the 4X400m relay.'

Cooper Binder won first place in the 1600m run and first place in the 2400m run.

Jillian Halfmann took first place in the pole vault. In the 7th grade girls triple jump, Martin placed first followed by Skyla Hostetter in second place.

Tristen Hoelscher was the standout for the 8th grade girls placing first in the discus and sixth in the shot put and the 1600m run.

Esly Chavez won second place in the 800m run. Jenna Battle won fourth place in the 2400m run, while Nadia Molina followed in fifth place.

Brookyn Gau placed third in the 300m hurdles, fourth in the 100m hurdles and the long jump, fifth on the triple jump and was part of the fourth place winning 4X400m relay team.

Ballinger placed fifth in the girls 4X100 meter relays and fourth in the 4X400m relays.

Grace Hoelscher placed third in pole vault, with Emma Toliver placing fourth in the triple jump followed by Brooklyn Gau. Katelyn Gau placed third in the discus.

Gaven Jaynes was the standout for the 7th grade boys placing second in the triple jump and in the 300m hurdles and third in the high jump.

Bradley Valenzuela placed third in the 1600m run with Damian Ornalez placing first in the 2400m run.

In the 8th grade boys category, Landen McIntyre placed second in the 200m dash and Landen Landers placed second in the 400m dash. Javian Zavala placed second in the 800m and the 1600m runs.

Carter Arrott placed first in the 110m hurdles and second in the 300m hurdles. Seth Boggess placed fourth in the 110m hurdles.

Ballinger placed fifth in the 4X100m relay, second in the 4X200m relay and second in the 4X400m relay.

Landen Landers was first in the high jump and Briley Clinton was second in the pole vault followed by Javion Zavala at third place.

Carter Arrott won third place in the triple jump. Markus Caterberry was third in the shot put with Fabian Rubio at first place in the discus.
