The Miles Bulldogs varsity football team lost to Menard last week 27-6, but even so, Mason Bryan was a standout during the game.

The junior high team lost 20-16 to the Yellow Jackets in a much closer game, Miles Head Coach Chad Currie reported.

The teams are on a bye week, but district play begins Friday, Oct. 13 at home against the Bronte Longhorns.

In other Miles sports news, the varsity and JV volleyball teams beat Bronte and Paint Rock last week with some exciting matches while the junior high swept Sterling City. This week the Lady Dogs played Veribest at home Tuesday night, and Sterling City and will be at Sterling City on Saturday.
