It was a good week for Lady Blizzards basketball, as the JV girls won four games, including the JV Division of the Blackland Divide Invitational Basketball Tournament in Roscoe, while the varsity won three out of four games this week and placed second in the Varsity Division of the tournament.

It was a good week for Lady Blizzards basketball, as the JV girls won four games, including the JV Division of the Blackland Divide Invitational Basketball Tournament in Roscoe, while the varsity won three out of four games this week and placed second in the Varsity Division of the tournament. On Friday, in their first game of the tournament, the JV beat Roscoe's JV, 39-17. Marley Smith had 10 points, while Gracie Reyes and Aliciea Reyna had eight. In their second game, the JV beat Roby's JV, 41-30. Marley Smith had 15 points, while Skylar Lee had eight. On Saturday, in the championship game, the JV Lady Blizzards won an overtime thriller over Ira’s JV, 27-25. Gracie Reyes had nine points and Marley Smith had five. The win improved the JV’s record to 5-0 on the young season.

On Friday, in their first game of the tournament, the varsity beat Roscoe, 43-35. Aimee Green had 13 points and Monique Carrillo had nine. In their second game, the varsity beat Highland, 57-43. Monique Carrillo had 21 points, while Brenna Knight and Aimee Green added 10 and nine, respectively. In the championship game on Saturday, the Lady Blizzards were defeated, 58-27, by the Ira Lady Bulldogs, currently ranked 14th in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class A poll. After the tournament, the Lady Blizzards record is 4-2.

On Tuesday, the Lady Blizzards’ Varsity and JV swept the Blackwell Lady Hornets. In the varsity game the Lady Blizzards won 37-30. Aimee Green had 10 points, Christy Kruse had seven, Monique Carrillo and Megan Jacob both had six. In the JV game, the Lady Blizzards won 28-20. Skylar Lee had 11 points and Marley Smith had 7.

The Lady Blizzards faced the TLCA Lady Eagles on Monday in San Angelo.
