The Department of Veterans Affairs has issued its annual geographic distribution of VA Expenditures for FY 2016 by county and I would like to give you all an update on the status of our county this past year.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has issued its annual geographic distribution of VA Expenditures for FY 2016 by county and I would like to give you all an update on the status of our county this past year.

The total number of veterans is 874, a seven percent decrease from fiscal year 2015.

The total amount of money distributed to Runnels County veterans was $4,066,000 - an increase of $522,000 from FY 2015.

The total education/vocational/rehabilitation/employment expenditures was $160,000, an increase of $29,000 from FY 2015.

The total Insurance/Indemnities expenditures was $61,000 - an increase of $28,000 from FY 2015.

The total medical care expenditures was $1,954,000, a decrease of $30,000 from FY 2015.

The total annual expenditures for Runnels County was $6,242,000, an increase of $550,000 from FY 2015.
