The river wasn’t very deep and it twisted and turned and there were even a few sandbars in the middle. The young man who brought us to the spot led us to believe that we could catch big fish there. He left and shortly returned pulling a small boat. He had us get into the boat and pulled us out to one of the sandbars. He brought the bait (it didn’t look to attractive to me) and told us to put our lines in the water on the shallow side of the sandbar. There we stood, the only ones on the sandbars while everyone else was on the riverbanks, using some weird bait, in shallow water, and hoping to catch a lot of big fish. It sure did take a lot of faith.

Trusting God and his Word (The Bible) takes a lot faith and so does living the Christian life (Luke 7:50,2Corinthians 5:7, Galatians 2:20 and Ephesians 2:8, 9 one of my favorites). Our fishing trip was a great success, (yes, we all caught our limit and they were nice fish) just as our guide promised. Romans 5:5, says we will not be disappointed if we put our faith in God. See you in church on Sunday.
