Odilia Torres Escamia, 82, of Winters passed away Friday, December 4, 2020.
She was born April 22, 1938 to Emilio Sr. and Guadalupe Torres in Westhoff, TX where she grew up and attended school, moving to Winters in 1950. She met Domingo Escamia in school and they were married in 1956 in Westhoff. Domingo preceded Odilia in death in 1974. Odilia graduated with her CNA in 1982 alongside her daughter, Guadalupe Escamia. She worked at the Senior Citizens Nursing Home for over 35 years.
Odilia enjoyed playing the accordion, listening to Mexican music, singing, and dancing. She could be seen at bingo halls with her family, and was always ready to go when prompted. While she had a love for family, friends, and animals, cooking and cleaning were not close to her heart. She was always glad to lend a helping hand.

She is survived by 3 children: Guadalupe Escamia of Winters, Maria Ochoa of Winters, and Jose Escamia of Winters; 2 sisters: Manuela Barquera of Winters and Jacinta Maldonado and husband David of Dickenson; brother Jacinto Torres of Winters; as well as 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
