Juan Reyes

Wingate - Juan Reyes, Sr., 80, of Wingate passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.

He was born July 26, 1941 in Runge, Texas to Jose and Angelita Reyes. He grew up in Runge and moved to Wingate in the 1970s. He married Raquela Martinez in Karnes County August 15, 1967. He was always hardworking, and a loving husband and grandfather. He was a farmer for Ronnie Poehls for 16 years. He liked working on tractors (all million of them) and stripping cotton. He also enjoyed mowing, listening to music, spending time with family, gardening, and fishing. His favorite past time was drinking coffee and watching his novelas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Angelita Reyes; children: Sara Reyes and Juan Reyes, Jr.; and siblings: Primotivo, Nicholas, Joe, and Jimmy Reyes.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Raquela Reyes of Wingate; daughters: Betty and Fred Estrada of Wingate, Beulah and Shane Smith of Wingate, and Juanita Smith of Mineral Wells; sister Esperanza and Isaac Moreno of Winters; 9 grandchildren: Vanessa, M.J., Joelda, Sadie, Ethan, Hannah, Ashley, Vivian, and Max; as well as 14 great grandchildren.

Per Juan's request, there will be no services.
