Patsy McGuffin

Winters - Patsy Jean McGuffin was welcomed at the gates of Heaven with rejoicing on January 17, 2022. She was born November 18, 1937 in Overton, Texas to Mary Roma and Edward Rensch and the family moved throughout Oklahoma and Texas with oil & gas jobs. She graduated from Beeville high school and while working as a waitress, met a young sailor, Dawson L. McGuffin. After a short courtship of six weeks, the two married. They called many places "home" over the years, but ultimately ended up in Winters, TX where Pat worked as an LVN at North Runnels Hospital and under Dr Y.K. Lee. She later worked at Winters Elementary, where she blessed many lives over her 18 years of employment with the school. Dawson and Pat's 64 years of marriage was blessed with three children, Roann McGuffin of San Angelo, Dawson McGuffin Jr and wife Kyla of Abilene and Kayleen Bergman and husband Lewis of Abilene. She was a beloved and very proud Granny to five grandchildren, Kandon Paul and husband Kyle, Brik McGuffin and wife Maegan, Addison Ramirez and husband Seth, Hayden Bergman and Madeline McGuffin, along with six great grandchildren. Pat was a true example of a servant of the Lord, and the home she and Dawson built reflected that throughout their lives. To know Pat was to see first hand the love of Christ, exemplified by her welcoming arms and wildly contagious smile. She enjoyed volunteering her time to care for her community, and was well known in the fellowship hall, at Winters meals on wheels, and at the Winters nursing home.

The sadness we feel at her loss is only lessened by the blessed assurance that she is singing praises of joy in the arms of Jesus, and the Truth that we will one day be reunited in Heaven.

A visitation was held Thursday, January 20, 2022 at North Main Church of Christ in Winters from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service followed at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 at North Main Church of Christ with burial following at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wylie Church of Christ, North Main Church of Christ in Winters, or Hendrick Hospice.
