Winters - Betty Lou Burson was born September 27, 1938, in Andice, Texas and went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2021.
She was the daughter of Eliza Martinez Zuniga. She met her husband, Wyman C. Burson Sr. and married December 3, 1955 in Burnett, Texas. They moved to Winters, Texas in 1959, where they raised their family. She spent several years as a homemaker before 10 years of service at the Winters Senior Citizen Activity Center.
One of her greatest joys was spending time and supporting her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout the years, they went on numerous adventures. They not only referred to her as grandma; some lovingly referred to her as "Grancin".
She was a faithful member of Somebody Cares Ministries where she loved to play the tambourine. She also drove the bus transporting kids to and from church services for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her beloved sister-Irene Rios, mother, brother, and her son-Paul Michael. She is survived by her son Wyman C. Burson Jr. and wife Mary, daughter Betty Lou Brown, and daughter Yvonne Burson, all of Winters. As well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Whenever family was traveling, she always requested a rock as a souvenir. "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 1 Peter 2:6
Heaven gains our rock until we meet again.
A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.
