Larry Dee Edwards, 79, of Shep passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020. He was born Jan. 16, 1941 to Hubert and Loree Edwards in Shep where he grew up. After graduation, Larry joined the Air Force. He married Barbara Grisham at Shep Baptist Church in 1961. Following the Air Force, he ranched in New Mexico, causing him to fall in love with ranching and continue to ranch the remainder of his life. He was an Aerospace Engineer, ranching on the side, for a number of years before retiring and ranching full time.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Edwards of Shep; three children: Christy Chittum and husband Mike of San Antonio, Steve Edwards and wife Jennifer of Shep, and Dianna Bryan and husband Cole of Midland; sister Adele Mims and husband Royce; five grandchildren: James Dodson and wife Devon Woodhouse, Courtney LeBlanc and husband Joe, Samuel Edwards, Hannah Edwards, and Katie Bryan; as well as five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at the Winters Funeral Home Chapel.
