Brenda Lorene (Green) Balkum, 59, of Ballinger, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.
She was born Jan. 29, 1960 to Carter Ray and Laura Mae (Organ) Green Sr. in Ballinger. She married the love of her life Mickey Balkum on April 5, 1986 in Winters. Brenda was always known as a fighter and overcame many battles. She loved above all spending time with her family, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and Al Green.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Carter Ray and Laura Mae Green; her brother, Carter Ray Green Jr.; and her nephew, Jason Young.
She is survived by her husband, Mickey; daughter, Laura and husband Carlington Hewitt of New Jersey; daughter, Tiffany and husband Blas Vasquez of San Angelo; and daughter, Alana and husband William Johnson of Houston. Brenda is also survived by her siblings, Marilyn Young, Tisha Green, and Paul Green; and special cousin, Martha Martinez. She is also remembered by 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
