Adeline was born July 21, 1925, to Reinhold and Mary (Franke) Hoelscher.  She spent most of her youth growing up on a family farm near Dry Ridge between Olfen and Ballinger.  To support the WW II effort, that farm along with other farms became what is now Bruce Field.  The family then bought and moved to a farm in the Norton community when Adeline was 16.  She attended Catholic schools in Rowena and Olfen.  She also attended public school at Dry Ridge.  Adeline married Robert Holder on April 15, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballinger.  As a homemaker and farmer’s wife, she and Robert worked together on farms near Norton, Maverick and Winters, raising their family and providing their children an opportunity to get college educations.  When her youngest child was a senior in high school she began working at Dry’s Manufacturing in Winters.  She enjoyed working there until she retired after 18 years.  She was a membe of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballinger, Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Winters and a returning member of St. Mary’s in Ballinger during the last several years.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.
She was  preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, brothers Marvin Hoelscher and Emmitt Hoelscher, sister, Francine Halfmann and infant son Harold Joseph Holder.
Surviving siblings include her sisters Lynette Lange, Virginia Holder, Ethel Berger (Eugene) of San Angelo and Mary Lou Jansa  (Lester) of Midland, her brothers Glen Hoelscher (Anna) and Clifford Hoelscher (Jean) of Midland.  Additional survivors include her daughter Anna Rice of Ballinger, son, Richard Holder (Janice) of San Angelo, grandson, Kenneth Holder (Heather) of San Antonio, great-grandson Perrin and great-granddaughter Vesper.
