Court Our Lady of Grace #1734, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Rowena, presented a $200 Graduate’s Award to Julia Martinez and Chris Irby, two graduating high school seniors from St. Joseph’s Parish. Both are graduates of Ballinger High School. Regent, Linda Frerich, made the presentation at the court’s anniversary celebration on June 23, 2020, where all graduating high school seniors of the parish were special guests.


Julia plans to attend Howard College to obtain a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She plans to continue as lector at St. Joseph’s and looks forward to becoming a Eucharistic Minister. Julia is also looking forward to help with the next ACTS retreat and hopeful to participate and experience a travel aboard mission to share and teach God’s love.


Chris will be majoring in Computer Science at Angelo State University, and continue his education with a graduate degree in Robotics. Upon entering ASU, he plans to become an active member of the Newman Center to surround himself with people with the same beliefs and values he has had growing up in a faith community.
