A family violence shooting broke the quiet west Texas evening in Miles on Sunday, March 29th.


According to a press release from the Runnels County Sheriffs Department, “On Sunday afternoon 03-29-2020 at approximately 7:24 p.m. Runnels County dispatch received a 911 call reporting a shooting at 701 St. John’s in Miles.


Runnels County Deputies and Ballinger P.D. Officers arrived and found James Quezada with a single gun shot wound to his right chest/shoulder area.


Upon investigation it was determined during a family argument Bonita Quezada, victims wife, obtained a handgun shooting the victim. Bonita Quezada was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Runnels County jail.


James Quezada was transported to Shannon Medical Center by Ballinger EMS. He is currently in stable condition.


Bonita Quezada’s bond was set at $25.
