What position are you running for?

I am running for County Commissioner Precinct 3.

Why are you running?

I was born and raised in Runnels County and have lived here most of my life.

I am running because I am just like most of you. I see several issues in the county that I feel need to be addressed. With my knowledge and experience, I feel I am the perfect choice to help the county overcome the issues that most of you are concerned with.

What do you see as the biggest challenges for the position that you’re running for?

Our Sherriff’s department needs our help to solve some issues that will be difficult based on the current budget. I can help with that.

Our property taxes are rising every year, but we don’t seem to be getting any more

benefit from our tax dollars. I would like to change that.

We need someone with road construction experience to oversee the repair and

maintenance of our roads. I can provide that.

Do you have previous experience, either in the position for which you or running or in another comparable capacity?

I have a degree in Telecommunications and served as an engineer at Sprint/Nextel so problem solving is one of my strongest assets. I have experience in management, budgeting, scheduling, and prioritizing tasks. I have leadership and safety training.

I also have over 15 years of experience in road construction and civil engineering. While serving 8 years as Field supervisor for Calcote Dirt Contracting, I have built roads, entrances and foundation pads for many of the Runnels County and surrounding county’s residents.

I am currently a Project Superintendent for a land clearing company. I oversee projects in the wind, solar and power line business that take several months to complete with a great deal of manpower. It’s my job to make sure all employees are trained on the equipment as well as how to maintain that equipment. I am responsible for making sure the project is completed on time, correctly and on budget.

What qualities do you feel that best epitomize the ideal candidate for the position for which you are running?

Pride in community, experience, leadership, integrity, a desire to see the county prosper, and the willingness to work with others to make that happen. For question or concerns, contact me at runcocom@yahoo.com.

I look forward to serving Runnels county and I would sincerely appreciate your vote March 3rd.
