At the regular monthly meeting, members  of Court Our Lady of Grace #1734, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Rowena, were presented a “Keep It Simple” program on exercise by Johana Lange and Kendra Jones, physical therapists from Ballinger Memorial Hospital.  They demonstrated and had members participate in exercises, with only a chair as a prop.  Emphasis was on Strength, Flexibility, Balance and Posture.

 

The Court is preparing to host its Spaghetti Dinner/Bake Sale/Prize Drawings on Sunday, February 23rd.  The annual  event which began in the mid-1970’s  is the only fund raiser sponsored by the court each year.  This year Linda Frerich and Rhonda Legg will chair the planning committee.

 

Ashley Book reported that plans are being discussed for the annual “Ladies” Night Out”.  The movie “I Still Believe” being shown in March is the top choice.

 

Five high school seniors from St. Joseph’s have submitted applications for the Texas State Memorial Scholarship.  Judging takes place on the state level in April with results being sent to local Regent, Linda Frerich, some time in May.  Norma Multer, chairman of the local scholarship given each year by the court stated members will choose the recipient in April or May.
