The Carnegie Library hosted the annual Christmas Cup of Tea Fundraiser on December 7th. The theme this year was Christmas. A Time to Care. A Time to Share. Sue Morrish chaired the event with Shelly Holden and D’Ann Hatler assisting.
As the guest entered, they were greeted by 19 beautifully adorned tables. Hot apple cider was served as the guests visited and admired the beautiful tables. This year the ladies that decorated the tables were; Kay Smith, Suzann Riley, Diana Hood, Clydelle Selby, Connie Fryar, Ann Hays, Louise Drennan, Nita Tapley, Shell Holden, Brenda Danley, Karen Binder, Charlas Frantz, Iris Blake, Michelle Aguilera and Sue Morrish.
After the guest visited the bountiful table of assorted Christmas goodies, they settled back to enjoy the program that was emceed by Shelly Holden and D’Ann Hatler. The entertainers were Philip Arp, Santa Claus, aka Dryden Taubert, Drew Arp, Deesa Drennan, Braylin Quiroga, Addie Conrad and Kynlee Palmer.
Phyllis Boles, Louise Drennan and Suzann Riley gave demonstrations on how to make easy and inexpensive Christmas decorations and gifts. Rounding out the program was Kathy and Allan Evans, Zac Harrison and an amazing rendition of “So this is Christmas,” sung by Sarah Campbell.
Closing the program, Shelly introduced the current board of directors; President Sue Morrish, Vice President Carla Campbell, Secretary Darlene Kelly, Treasurer Mike and Suzann Riley along with Archie Gallant, Iris Blake, Heather Fuentes, Diana Hood, D’Ann Hatler and Carolyn Slaughter. At the end of December three of our board members will be rotating off and will be replaced by new board members Robbie Fuchs, Renee Fulton and Sarah Campbell.
A silent auction was an added interest in the event. A special, “Thank you,” to the ones donating to this worthwhile cause; State Senator Charles Perry, Ballinger Feed & Seed, Talented Friends, Cason’s Mercantile, Good Time Charlie, Brady Bunch Boutique, The Quilt Shop, Ballinger Florists, A Cut Above Boutique, Material Treasures, Apples N Spice florists, Maudie Rountree, Head to Toe Salon, Bickel and Co, Curiosities, Diana Hood and Sue Morrish.
