The annual Ballinger Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held Thursday, February 22 at the Carnegie Library.

The annual Ballinger Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held Thursday, February 22 at the Carnegie Library.

The event, catered by Beefmaster Steakhouse in Ballinger, was attended by members and citizens from the community and included the presentations of Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year.

Tammie Virden, executive director of the chamber, said the evening was a "great night of networking and awards."

Elaine Paske was awarded the 2017 Citizen of the Year, Nathan Pruett received Junior Chamber Citizen of the Year and Ballinger Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year was awarded to Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

In attendance along with many Chamber businesses and citizens there was representation from local and statewide representatives including Kathy Keane, executive director of the Texas Midwest Community Network, Laura Lewis, District Director with Senator Charles Perry's office, Cheryl DeCordova, District Director with Representative Drew Darby's office, and Joanne Powell, Regional Director with Congressman Michael Conaway's office.

"Thank you to everyone who attended, we had a spectacular attendance and great food," Virden said.
