Meals on Wheels of Runnels County recently received a $500 check from the Winters Area Foundation.
Meals on Wheels of Runnels County recently received a $500 check from the Winters Area Foundation. Money donated to Meals on Wheels through the Ministerial Alliance is designated for local expenses. The Meals on Wheels van is used to pick up meals from Abilene before being distributed to routes in Ballinger and Winters. The Winters Area Foundation supports local non profits in their endeavors. Past beneficiaries of the WAF included the Winters Public Library, Winters and Wingate Volunteer Fire Departments, Z. I Hale Museum, North Runnels Hospital as well as other local organizations.
The community is urged to contribute to the WAF or to the Ministerial Alliance. Donations may be mailed to Box 211, Winters, 79567. Those who accepted the donation were Barbara Jones, Samaritan’s House, Colt McCook, president of Winters Ministerial Alliance, Jill Davis, president of Winters Area Foundation and Lupe Vasquez, director of Meals on Wheels in Winters.
