COLEMAN—Coleman County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC) has entered into a partnership agreement with TransWorld Network, Corp. (TWN) to provide CCEC members and the surrounding communities with Wi-Power Internet & Phone Service.

COLEMAN—Coleman County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC) has entered into a partnership agreement with TransWorld Network, Corp. (TWN) to provide CCEC members and the surrounding communities with Wi-Power Internet & Phone Service. Wi-Power offers next generation, high-speed, fixed wireless broadband Internet access.

The service has been available throughout west Texas since 2010. The Wi-Power network stretches from north of Perryton, south to San Angelo and east to Abilene. The recent partnership with CCEC means Wi-Power is now offered in CCEC’s territory for the communities of Ballinger, Lake Coleman, Lawn, Miles, Novice, Talpa and most recently, the City of Coleman. TWN plans to expand their network throughout the area to reach even more local communities with Santa Anna and Gouldbusk coming soon.

Wi-Power Internet & Phone is designed to reach areas often unserved or underserved by traditional Internet technologies. TWN’s network infrastructure is designed using a state of the art, wireless-based platform to deliver broadband access.

TWN provides all operational support to the customer, including billing, customer service, technical support and installation. TWN currently provides branded communications programs for electric cooperatives across the nation. Product offerings include Wi-Power Internet/ VoIP phone service and ISP support services all branded on behalf of TWN’s rural electric cooperative partners.

Coleman County Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative. Incorporated in 1937, CCEC provides electric power to approximately 9,000 meters, which stretches over eight counties, including Coleman, Runnels, Concho, Tom Green, Brown, Callahan, Taylor, and Coke, As a cooperative, they are a non-profit, member owned, and member controlled organization.
