WINTERS – The Runnels County Sheriff’s Department and the Winters Police Department reportedly discovered drugs and parapherlania used for the distribution of narcotics after executing a search warrant in Winters on Wednesday, May 24.

Runnels County Sheriff Carl Squyres reported that deputies with the RCSO and the Winters P.D. searched a residence in the 600 block of South Rogers Street for stolen property from a theft reported by a business in mid May.

While searching for the property at the residence, officers discovered paraphernalia and then requested and were granted a subsequent warrant to search the property for narcotics.

A quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a set of digital scales were recovered during the search, Squyres reported.

The resident of the property was not at home during the execution of the search warrants so no arrests have been made in the case.

“The investigation continues and charges will be filed at a later date,” Squyres said.
