WINTERS - The Winters High School National Honor Society will be hosting a Meek Blood Center blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 4. This year, Winters High School is participating in Meek Blood’s Red Cord program, which encourages graduating seniors to give blood.
If a senior from a participating school gives blood twice during their senior year, they earn the honor of wearing a red cord with their cap and gown at graduation. If a senior cannot give blood for personal or health reasons, they can still earn the honor by having two volunteers donate on their behalf.
Last semester Winters High School hosted a school-only blood drive and collected 33 units of blood.
“This semester, we are expanding the drive to include all of the Winters community,” said Grace Bryan, president of the National Honor Society.
Those who wish to donate, please call Bryan at 325-977-0846 to sign up for a donation time slot.
