The Wheat family and staff of The Crossing Travel Market are excited to announce a Grand Opening celebration for Saturday, March 11. Festivities and entertainment will begin at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. The Crossing opened for business Wednesday.

The Crossing is a much-anticipated hybrid convenience store/truck stop located at US Hwy 83 and Texas Hwy 153 in Winters, Texas. The facility has been under construction since the spring of 2016. The Crossing is locally-owned and operated by The Wheat family, owners of Wheat Energy Services.

The Crossing will be offering many products and services and a special convenience-shopping experience. The convenience store will offer a wide variety of snack, food, and other quality items. Food service will feature Hunt Bros. Pizza, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, and the Hometown Grill, a selection of breakfast and lunch/dinner items. Seating areas will include a 40-person inside seating room and a covered, outside seating area.

The Crossing offers 10 fueling positions for autos that will include three gasoline grades and highway diesel. The fleet island will offer hi-flow highway and off-road diesel as well as diesel exhaust fluid. Driver services will include showers and laundry facilities, truck parking, and other business services. In addition, the Crossing will feature a drive-thru window for purchasing food or store items.

The Crossing ownership is blessed and excited to employ an outstanding management team that includes Will Ahrens, general manager; Sherry Tarr, business manager and Michelle Smith, food-service manager.

Door prizes will be given away, and visitors are encouraged to bring the whole family to meet the store's polar bear mascot.

"We welcome everyone to come out and join us this week at The Crossing Travel Market," said owner Doug Wheat. "Our Crossing team is more than excited to show our new facility and , and we are looking forward to being a new 'destination stop' for our area community, travelers, and fleet customers.
