The Ballinger Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is currently taking donations for the Christmas Food Baskets. Donations may be made during regular hours at the food pantry or may be made at a donation box at the Shoppin' Baskit in Ballinger.

The Ballinger Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is currently taking donations for the Christmas Food Baskets. Donations may be made during regular hours at the food pantry or may be made at a donation box at the Shoppin' Baskit in Ballinger.  

The food will be distributed Monday, Dec. 19. Those wishing to receive a basket must stop by the food pantry at 608 Strong Ave. to sign up. The food pantry will be closed today, but will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.  

Items on the list for a family of one to two persons include: one can each of green beans, corn, peas, fruit cocktail and pumpkin, one bag of dried beans, one bag of rice, one bag of dry stuffing mix, one cake mix with frosting, one bottle of cooking oil and instant potatoes. Families of three to four persons will receive two of each canned goods, rice and beans and one each of a bag of stuffing, cake mix with frosting and potatoes and one bottle of cooking oil. Families with five or more persons need four each of the canned goods, three bags of dried beans, three bags of rice, three cake mixes with frosting, two bottles of cooking oil and two bags of instant potatoes.  

Other items needed at the pantry include breakfast cereal, soup, beans, canned fruit, canned tuna, instant potatoes, rice, pasta and peanut butter.
