An educator from Olfen Independent School District was arrested last week and charged with indecency with a child by contact, according to the Runnels County Sheriff's Office.

An educator from Olfen Independent School District was arrested last week and charged with indecency with a child by contact, according to the Runnels County Sheriff's Office. Gose Cavazos, 51, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 15 and charged with indecency with a child by contact and improper relationship between and educator and student. He was released on Wednesday, Nov. 16, after posting bonds totaling $150,000.

 Sergeant Carl Squyres, said the incident involved a junior high student. However, no other information was available at press time.

"This case remains under investigation, Squyres said. "So we cannot release any additional information."

According to the Olfen ISD website, Cavazos teaches special education, history and Spanish.

According to the State Board of Education, Cavazos is licensed to teach social studies, special education, English as a second language and secondary Spanish.
