WINTERS - Texas country music artist Aaron Watson will be performing an outdoor concert this Saturday, April 22 at The Crossing Travel Market in Winters. The concert is in celebration of the opening of the new convenience store and truck stop, and a big crowd is expected for the event, said Doug Wheat, general partner at The Crossing.

The concert is in celebration of the opening of the new convenience store and truck stop, and a big crowd is expected for the event, said Doug Wheat, general partner at The Crossing.

A West Texas native, Watson, who has a dozen albums under his belt, has had a career that spans 17 years. He has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe playing more than 2,500 shows.

His latest album, “Vaquero” is a 16-song set of character driven storytelling. Watson, 39, is known for his take on real country music.

The concert will be held at 184 CR 385, Winters, which is directly behind the new store. Both the event and vehicle parking will take place in the open farmland, and it is a "rain or shine" concert.

Access to the parking area will be via County Road 385, which intersects with Hwy 83 approximately one fourth of a mile south of The Crossing Travel Market. Hunter Hutchinson will be the opening act and will take the stage at 7 p.m. followed by Watson who will perform at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15, and they can be purchased online via Outhouse Tickets or at The Crossing Travel Market in Winters. This is a BYOB event and a $15 cooler pass and a cooler inspection will be required for concert entry. Food, soft drinks, and bottled water will be available for purchase inside the concert area. Participating food trucks include the Feed Wagon, The Chick Inn, and The Sausage Shack.

"We would love for everyone to come out and enjoy some great music from an outstanding musical artist in a unique environment,” Wheat said. “We're very excited about our new store, and we invite our community and the people of West Texas to come out and experience The Crossing and this great celebratory event."
