BALLINGER - The annual Taste of Ballinger was enjoyed by over 150 people on Tuesday at the Community Center.

All proceeds from the annual event benefited the Carnegie Library of Ballinger.

The Carnegie Library Board would like to say thank you to the participating churches including the 9th Street Church of Christ, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, 7th Street Baptist Church, First Christian Church, St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, First Methodist Church and Grace Fellowship Church.

Without these groups donating their time, money and cooking skills this event would not have been possible.

The board also wishes to extend a big thank you to City Manager Bryan Grimes and the City of Ballinger for setting up the chairs and the use of the building, Golden Chick for furnishing the tea, and The Water Store for ice and water.

Cookbooks are still on sale at the Library for $5. The committee chairs for the event were Connie Fryar, Darlene Kelly and Martha Pinckney.

"We are so excited this was such a success for the library and hope to have this support to continue next year to make it bigger and better," Kelly said.
