Anyone watch the Oscars Sunday night? Personally, I was disappointed with Conan's role as host and I thought the entire event was plastic and preconceived. I used to enjoy the Oscars and felt I knew some of the actors and their roles in movies, and I really liked listening to the nominated songs sung by the artists who originally did the song.

City council and Runnels County Commissioners open dialogue over issues

BALLINGER, TX - It was a meeting that, as they say, "was a long time comin'." There has been back and forth over many years regarding Runnels County paying not paying as much as the City believes that they should for fire services in the county, while the other side of the proverbial coin is the County feeling that they aren't getting paid appropriately for dispatch services. They have not been paid in two years.

Hope you readers have had a great Christmas. It has such fanfare getting to the actual day of Christmas, we sometimes get exhausted just listening to Christmas music and seeing Christmas movies on the airwave since October.
