RUNNELS COUNTY EVENT CALENDAR

Norton Homecoming Norton Homecoming will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at the Norton Community Center. A brisket luncheon with all the trimmings and desert will be served for $12.00 a plate. Proceeds from this fundraiser support improvements to the Norton Community Center building.

Two collisions claim 3 lives

RUNNELS COUNTY, Texas - The death toll on Highway 67 continues to rise with 3 more deaths reported in a collision Thursday morning. The wreck happened out in the area of Benoit around 10 a.m. The scene was described as “very bad.” In all, 5 people have been killed in traffic accidents on U.S. 67 in the last two weeks, alone.

Runnels County Historical Commission wins Distinguished Service award

RUNNELS COUNTY - On July 18, 2022, the Runnels County Historical Commission (CHC) received the 2021 Distinguished Service award from teh Texas Historical Commission (THC). The letter reads, in part: This annual award affirms RCHC appointees for managing well-round history and preservation-related programs that enrich Texas communities.
