BALLINGER - The Last Chapter (TLC), aka Old Town Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and The Pumpkin Patch, has been growing bigger and better every day since they opened about 5 years ago. The fall pumpkin patch features over 2,000 pumpkins every year. The Old Town Christmas features an Old West town, complete with goats, chickens, turkeys, African porcupines, and... a baboon named Darby. Yes, a real living, breathing baboon.

Local artist finds creative expression through recyclables

Willow Johnston, a Ballinger resident for the past three years has found an interesting knack of creating art using almost completely all recycled items. I met Willow, by chance, a few years ago as I was unloading items into my storage container. She and her husband, Mike, lived close-by to the sea container where I was, and the noise brought her outside her RV.
