Betty Middleton Parrish

Betty Middleton Parrish, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on September 20, 2022 in Lubbock, TX at 90 years of age.
Be t ty and twin brother, Bill, were born on April 17, 1932 to Walter and Ruby Mae Middleton. On March 17, 1956 she married Ben Sims Parrish in Brownwood, TX. They celebrated 63 years of wonderful marriage before his death in 2019. After graduating from Ballinger High School in 1949, Betty enrolled at Tarleton State College in Stephenville, TX. After graduating from Tarleton, she returned to Ballinger and was employed by Ray Fuqua Chevrolet in Ballinger and Middleton Chevrolet in Rowena. She was later employed by Ballinger ISD and retired in 2004 after 39 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben, her parents Walter and Ruby Mae (Palmer) Middleton, and brother Bill Middleton. Family members left to cherish Betty’s memory are her two sons: Tommy (Lezlie) Parrish of Lubbock and Greg Parrish of Ballinger; her two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters: Alyssa (Tyler) Richardson and daughters Evelyn and Scarlett and Lexi (Brady) Ruth all of Lubbock.

She is also survived by three dear cousins: Suzanne Price, Mary Jane Vineyard, and Mary McMillan. The family would like to express our loving appreciation to Brookdale Remington Park Assisted Living, Micah Lust, PA, at Lubbock Family Medicine, and Interim HomeCare and Hospice of Lubbock for the loving care they provided for our mother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Carnegie Library of Ballinger or West Texas Boys Ranch in San Angelo.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger, TX.
