What I've Learned!

I don’t know if it was young and stupid or old and senile, but I used to know a lot more than I know now. I was smart, a bit arrogant and smug in my younger days. I’ve changed a lot since then. I’ve learned a great deal in the process and concluded that I’m not as smart as I thought I was. I think life does that to us. It tends to educate us in ways we can never imagine. I figured to be rich and famous by the time I was twenty-five. I wanted to set the world on fire.

Ballinger man drowns at Ballinger Municipal Lake on Sunday

A 20-year-old Hispanic man from Ballinger drowned in Ballinger City Lake on Sunday afternoon, June 30th. The man’s body was not recovered until late Monday morning. Family members said that the man was walking on a sandbar in the lake when he disappeared after apparently stepping off into a deeper area. Family members said that the man didn’t know how to swim.
