Runnels County Judge Julia Miller says that the courthouse is in need of repairs. "There is minor cracking throughout the entire building due to the settling of the building over the 100+ years that it has been in existence. However, recently there has been more significant cracking along numerous interior walls which are mainly located in the southeast quadrant of the building. These cracks have appeared on the third floor, second floor and the first floor.
