Ballinger budget woes and proposed tax hike prompt Thursday City Council meeting

At the Monday City Council meeting heated questions arose over the proposed 18% tax hike and $733,000 budget deficit. No workshops or hearings had been held on the budget or tax hike. The city has now scheduled a public meeting for Thursday at 7 p.m. to discuss the budget woes and proposed tax hike. The budget must be adopted prior to the new fiscal year that starts on October 1.
