Texas Drawn Hunt Program opens applications for 2025 – 26 season
AUSTIN – Hunters now have new opportunities and scenery to experience this fall through Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) drawn hunt permits program.

FSA accepting nominations for county committees
The annual Farm Service Agency county committee election cycle is underway. Nearly 7,700 producers serve on more than 2,200 FSA county committees nationwide. A third of committee spots are up for election each year.

ECAP deadline is August 15
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is issuing up to $10 billion in payments through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP) for the 2024 crop year.

1925 Runnels County Jail fundraiser is a major success
BALLINGER — The 1925 Old Runnels County Jail Restoration Project held a fundraiser on Saturday, July 19 on the courthouse grounds. Hints at the event's success were foreshadowed early on.
