Blizzards looking to recover from disappointing 2021 season

Winters - To say that the Winters Blizzards had a difficult season last year would be an understatement. They lost star quarterback Jon Kullen Busher to a horrific leg injury early in the season that sidelined him from all sports for the rest of the school year. Busher was having a career night when the injury occurred. It was a blow that the Blizzards wouldn’t be able to recover from. Overall, the Blizzards finished the season at 2-7. They finished 1-4 in district play. Their two wins came against Hico, 48-7, and De Leaon, 55-21. The win over Hico was overshadowed by Busher’s career-ending injury.

KRUN Diamond Jubilee 75th anniversary

BALLINGER - It was 1947, two years after the end of World War II. An area that had once been a bustling training area for flyers from across the country was now quiet. Well, except for the music coming from a little radio station with the call sign KRUN that was launched that year. KRUN radio will celebrate it’s diamond jubilee, it’s 75th birthday this year. The station is as much a part of Ballinger as The Cross, chicken spaghetti, and deep rooted families.
