The Miles Lady Bulldogs defeated the Paint Rock Maidens in straight sets on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The game was never in question as Miles jumped out to large leads in the first two sets. The Lady Bulldogs won the first set by a score of 25-22 when Paint Rock made a comeback but fell short. The Maidens fell in the second set by a score of 25-12.

Miles was led by senior Gissele Everhardt and junior Tycie Lange as the Lady Bulldogs scored at will.

The third set was going Paint Rock’s way as they jumped out to a surprising 7-0 lead. With only one player on the bench it was thought that they’d be worn down and the Lady Bulldogs would win going away.

To Paint Rock’s credit, they dug deep to make it a contest. But the Lady Bulldogs dug in their heals as they came back to take a lead of 9-7.

The Maidens had no answer to the Lady Bulldogs’ strikers who spiked the ball at will with very little resistance. The Maidens were only able to scored a handful of points before Miles finished strong with a win 25-17.
