On May 1, Runnels county students from Ballinger, Winters and Miles participated in the “Best of the West” Special Olympics in Sonora. Students from several area schools participated in both track and field events.

Ballinger:

6th grade- Nick Ogle- 1st - 50 meter run, 1st tennis ball throw.

6th grade- Heaven Ornalez- 2nd 100 meter run, 1st softball throw.

6th grade- Jesse Horton-Vela- 2nd 100 meter run, 1st softball throw.

7th grade- Chase Mendoza- 2nd 50 meter run, 3rd standing long jump.
