The Ballinger Bearcats took the lead late and defeated Presidio 10-6 on Thursday bringing home the Bi-District Championship.

It was a nailbiter as the game was tied at six with the Bearcats batting in the bottom of the fifth when Cody Harral singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Presidio scored four runs in the fourth inning, but Ballinger still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Presidio came thanks to a single by Zarud Rohana and a double by Aldhayr Alvarado.

In the first inning, the Bearcats got their offense started when Jon Marcon drove in one when he singled.

Jorian Fuentes took the win for for the Bearcats. He allowed two hits and six runs over four innings, striking out eight. Keynan Gonzalez threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Albian Amancio took the loss for Presidio. He went four innings, allowing eight runs on four hits and striking out 10.

DJ Cavazos went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bearcats in hits. Rohana led Presidio with two hits in four at bats.

The Bearcats will play Shallowater in Snyder at 5 p.m. Friday, May 11. Game two is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12 also at Snyder. If needed, a third game will be played 30 minutes following the second game.
